On a quiet evening in London, Pujya Swami Avatar Puri Ji was warmly received at St Anne’s Church in Brondesbury, where he delivered an interfaith lecture titled “Peace: Internal & External.” The event was hosted by Rev. Pete Hopkins and welcomed people from diverse faith backgrounds, including Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, and other traditions, all united in a sincere wish to understand how peace can be cultivated both personally and collectively.

Pujya Swami Avatar Puri Ji began by guiding the audience to the root of peace, explaining that lasting peace in the world can only grow out of true peace within the individual.
“Peace begins within the heart, and from there it radiates to the whole world,” he said.
He drew on the teachings of Yoga in Daily Life®, the system developed by his revered master Vishwaguru Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda Ji, sharing practical methods to develop inner stability, including ethical living, breath awareness, meditation, and self-discipline.
Swamiji’s message was not abstract or theoretical. He spoke with simplicity and clarity about living peace daily, through our thoughts, speech, and actions.

Throughout his talk, Pujya Swami Avatar Puri Ji quoted from various spiritual traditions - including the Bhagavad Gita, and the Holy Bible, and the Quran - to highlight the shared values of peace, humility, and compassion.
He reminded the audience that interfaith understanding does not mean giving up one’s own path, but rather honouring the sacred in others while being deeply rooted in one’s own spiritual tradition.
This kind of respectful dialogue, he said, can help overcome fear and misunderstanding in society and create a foundation for genuine unity.

The evening was marked by a calm and reflective spirit. People listened attentively, not only with their ears but with their hearts. It was clear that the gathering was not about debate or comparison, but about learning from one another and deepening our own commitment to peace.
Pujya Swami Avatar Puri Ji’s presence brought a sense of stillness and sincerity to the space - a quiet reminder that peace is not created through slogans, but through conscious living and personal example.

After the lecture, Pujya Swami Avatar Puri Ji took a short walk through parts of the city with some of his bhaktas and devotees. Walking through London, a city of many cultures, languages, and histories - Swamiji appreciated the beauty of diversity, seeing in it a reflection of the spiritual principle of unity in difference.
It was a gentle reminder that peace can be practiced not only in ashrams and temples, but also in daily life - on the street, in the city, in each moment.

This evening was not just an event, but a living example of how Sanatan Dharma can engage the world in a spirit of peace, dialogue, and mutual respect.
Pujya Swami Avatar Puri Ji did not come with a political or ideological agenda. He came as a humble servant of Dharma, sharing what he lives every day: the path of inner clarity, outer compassion, and universal brotherhood.
