The recent visit of Pujya Swami Avatar Puri Ji Maharaj to New Zealand unfolded as a deeply enriching spiritual journey, touching hearts across Auckland, Wellington, and the Kāpiti Coast. Through satsangs, retreats, sacred rituals, interfaith dialogue, and moments of quiet reflection in nature, the tour radiated the timeless teachings of Yoga, Dharma, Peace, and Inner awakening as guided by Sri Vishwaguruji.
The journey began in Auckland, where a truly beautiful satsang was held with Sri Vishwaguruji’s bhaktas. Filled with joy, reflection, and deep connection, the evening focused on the theme:
“The Yogic Way to Happiness and Fulfilment.”
The teachings reminded everyone that true happiness arises from balance, awareness, and inner discipline. Devotional bhajans and Aarati followed, creating a peaceful and uplifting atmosphere of devotion.
A special moment came the following morning when Swami Avatar Puri Ji visited the Sky Tower, taking in a panoramic view of Auckland - a gentle reminder of the importance of perspective, both outer and inner.
The second evening satsang at the Auckland Ashram carried a serene and reflective mood. Centered on “Yoga for Inner Peace & Joyful Living,” the session guided participants toward harmony, mindfulness, and balance in daily life. Bhajans, kirtans, and prayers filled the space with vibrant yet calming devotion. Earlier that day, a quiet visit to the sea offered moments of stillness and gratitude, enriching the overall experience.
Before departing Auckland, a final morning workshop beautifully concluded the programs:
“Peace & Joy through Mantra - A Journey of Sound & Stillness.”
Through mantra, vibration, silence, and a deeply restorative Yoga Nidra, participants were gently guided into profound inner awareness. The session ended profound harmony - a heartfelt closing filled with gratitude, calmness, and the quiet joy that arises when sound dissolves into silence.
In Wellington, a warm and devotional evening satsang brought together Sri Vishwaguruji’s bhaktas in heartfelt connection.
During the satsang, Swami Avatar Puri Ji offered a simple yet profound reflection on impermanence and the eternal nature of the Self:
“The blue sky that we see above is us, and the clouds are our problems.
Sometimes the sky is clear. Sometimes there are white clouds, sometimes slightly grey, and sometimes heavy rain clouds.
But did you notice one thing? Do the clouds stay there permanently? No.
The sky is permanent, but the clouds always pass.
Whatever comes into our life will also pass. Happiness comes - it will pass. Sadness comes - that too shall pass.
The Atma is permanent, but the body is like clothes. This body is not permanent; we are not permanent in this form.
And when the Atma unites with Paramatma, that becomes the greatest union - and that is what we are all moving toward.”

This teaching gently reminded everyone to remain rooted in awareness, to witness life’s changing experiences without attachment, and to remember the eternal truth that lies beyond the fluctuations of the mind and body.
The following day, Swami Avatar Puri Ji led a one-day Urban Retreat at the Wellington Ashram, offering a balanced and enriching experience that included yoga, meditation, yoga nidra, mantra chanting and spiritual discourse.
The retreat provided practical tools to reconnect with inner peace while living in the rhythm of modern urban life, unfolding with clarity, simplicity, and heartfelt presence.
That evening, a thoughtful satsang focused on the timeless teachings of Dharma and Adharma, guiding seekers toward clarity, right action, and inner responsibility.
PujyaSwami Avatar Puri Ji Maharaj Ji then visited Sri Devpuriji Ashram, Raumati, on the beautiful Kāpiti Coast. Before the evening satsang, he spent quiet and joyful moments walking along the beach, accompanied by Swami Madhuram Puri Ji and devoted bhaktas. The sea offered a natural space for reflection, gratitude, and serenity.
The evening satsang at Raumati Ashram welcomed Sri Vishwaguruji’s bhaktas along with many new seekers. Swami Avatar Puri Ji spoke on profound yogic truths, including:

Pujya Swami Avatar Puri Ji Maharaj was graciously invited to an official reception hosted by Her Excellency Neeta Bhushan, High Commissioner of India to New Zealand, at the High Commission of India in Wellington. During the event, he presented the book “The Hidden Power in Humans, Chakras and Kundalini” https://www.chakras.net/ by Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda, Vishwaguruji, symbolising the wisdom of yoga, self-realisation, and inner potential.

The event was beautifully coordinated by Mr. Naginbhai Neil G. Patel Ji, a devoted bhakta of Sri Vishwaguruji for over 22 years.
Another meaningful highlight was the interfaith panel discussion at the Wellington Ashram titled:

Representing the sacred Parampara, Pujya Swami Avatar Puri Maharaj Ji was joined by respected speakers from Yogananda’s Lineage, Sufism, Buddhism, and Christianity, with Gyananand Ji chairing the discussion. The evening reflected unity beyond differences, concluding with a shared meal and heartfelt connection.
On the sacred occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Ji’s Punyatithi, Pujya Swami Avatar Puri Maharaj Ji attended a commemorative program in Wellington, honouring Gandhi Ji’s eternal message of truth, non-violence, compassion, and unity. The event was organised in collaboration with Yoga in Daily Life New Zealand and the High Commission of India, led by Mr. Naginbhai Patel Ji.
The journey concluded with a heartfelt farewell satsang at the Wellington Ashram as Swami Avatar Puri Ji departed for Sydney, Australia, continuing his world tour. Filled with devotion and gratitude, the gathering reminded everyone that the Guru’s presence transcends time and place, living eternally through the teachings and shared consciousness of the sangha.ž
